Electric Vehicle

Over ten years’ time, an EV will save an average American household $4,000 to $6,000 in fuel costs alone. With fewer parts to break down, EVs also cost less to maintain.

Tax credit: Used EV: $4,000, New EV: up to $7,500

Cost:  $10K+ used; $29K - $100K+ new

Rebate: None but the tax credit is deducted from the sales price at the car lot. You might also get the tax credit on a leased car if you shop around.

Do now: Note how far you drive each day. This enables you to determine your requirement for range (miles between charges).
